This is where it all starts 

30 long years for me and 15 for Kristi, working for a fantastic corporate such as Daimler as well as the last three years for CNHi. Our dedication has seen amazing results, amazing friendships born and amazing memories. Perhaps though at the expense of our family.

 

 

Today was coming and it came fast after we made the decision to travel so make sure that you are ready or aware of a whole new head space. A space where support from your partner is vital. One of us is jubilant and the other getting there. It is a strange place and the sooner we start the global travel the better but when you travel for 12 months you need time to reassess, pack and put your “corporate lifestyle” on hold.  So it is still a few months before we really set off on our adventure.

The idea of leaving corporate life for our global travel together can put the brakes on the whole idea for the best of us. It took me a long time to come to the term “why not?” Frankly my advice here would be not to over analyse the thought and go for it.

At the end of the day we all dream of more time with our Wife or Husband and our kids. We all admit to missing too much and work becomes our life. The old cliche of work to live and not live to work is never so true. But the truth is that the corporate life will be there when we get back. It provides security and opportunity to make big dollars, but does it provide life long memories, bonding and family security?  I will come back from this adventure a better Father, better Husband and inside, and equally as importantly, a better person. Who knows if that is back into a big Corporate such as Daimler, we will have to see and you will have to keep tuned.
